Below you’ll find helpful information on the upcoming election as well as additional ways you can help spread the “Vote Yes” message.

EARLY VOTING INFORMATION

Early voting begins Monday, May 2. Take time NOW to vote . . . every vote is needed!

Early Voting Dates:

May 2-7       8am – 5pm                          May 8      1pm – 6pm

May 9-10    7am – 7pm

Early Voting Locations in RISD:

Fretz Park Library                             Audelia Road Library

Richardson Civic Center                 RISD Administration Building

One-Day Mobile Voting Locations (4-9pm):

May 3 – Richardson HS                        May 5 – Pearce HS

May 9 – Lake Highlands HS                May 10 – Berkner HS

Ballot language will read:

“The issuance of $170,000,000 school building bonds and the levying of a tax in payment thereof and to pay the costs of any credit agreements executed in connection therewith.” (more information is available here: http://www.voteyesrisd.org/Facts_-_Vote_Yes_RISD.html )

By voting FOR this referendum,  you are voting “Yes!”

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Vote Yes RISD committee needs volunteers to help with the following:

Poster Hanging

We’re hanging posters in area shopping centers from today through Wednesday, May 4.

If you have an hour to help, please contact one of your area coordinators.

Early Voting Shifts

Have time one day (or more) from May 2 – 10 to help with early voting?

  • Work the polls and remind voters to “Vote Yes!” for the RISD school bond.

If you have a couple hours to help, please email voteyesrisd {at} gmail(.)com with the following:

     Date(s) available

     Time(s) available [8-10am, 11am-1pm, or 4-6pm]

     Location (Audelia Road Library, Richardson Civic Center, Fretz Park Library)

Election Day Shifts

Have time on Saturday, May 14, to help with the final Vote Yes push?

  • Coordinate volunteers for an area precinct location (likely an elementary school)
  • Work at an area precinct location, reminding voters to “Vote Yes!”

VOTE YES IN ACTION

The Vote Yes RISD committee has been busy at work, increasing awareness of the bond election and bond details and encouraging RISD community members to “Vote Yes!”

Below are a few highlights of our activities:

  • Distributed over 1,000 yard signs (yes, there are still more available!)
  • Attended community events (Hoops in the Highlands, area HOA events, etc.)
  • Contacted PTA presidents and HOA presidents to help spread the word.
  • Placed ads in NeighborsGo and several online outlets
